Teaser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesdays asks you to:

--Grab your current read
--Let the book open to a random page.
Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
--You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from… that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!

“’He promised to come down and light my fires tonight.’ I though that a remarkably racy statement for her to make in the company of strangers, until I looked at her face and realized she wasn’t aware of the English double meaning of the phrase.”

--From Season of Storms, by Susanna Kearsley

'My sixtysomething wrist was winched back through 90 degrees of agony, and my Ingersoll Solar was unclasped. I recall a pick'n'mix of obscenities ancient and modern, but before my muggers could filch my wallet, the chimes of an ice-cream van playing 'The Girl from Ipanema' scattered my assailants, like vampiresses the minute before dawn.'
