Cover deja-vu #2

The first cover is that of Push Not the River, by James Conroyd Martin. The second is the Bantam Classics cover of Wuthering Heights. Both are repreductions of Lady Hamilton As Circe, c. 1792, by George Romney.

She does have a very compelling face! I prefer the Wuthering Heights version, personally.

Also, it always makes me a little happy to see similar covers on historical fiction and actual classics, because I feel that some people are more likely to read classics if they have a contemporary-feeling cover!

You've found another one I see. The close-up shows the details of her face very nicely I think. Did Lady Hamilton really have a bushel of hair?

Wow, it's funny that no one is paid to make sure that covers aren't repeated.

It drives me positively nuts when I discover that covers are the same. One of Thomas Mann's books has the same cover as a James Patterson. Ugg!

Hahaha. I love these posts! Originality be damned; it's easier to find stock photos.

I like the close-up version, myself. That's quite a hairdo. A little frightening, actually.

Yeah it's no fun but actually stock photography usually isn't cheap, hundreds of dollars, so imagine what original photography costs. Plus it takes much less time to buy a picture then set up a photoshoot. It's still not the best to see repeats out there. I love to find them though!
