Over this past weekend, I watched the 2006 movie version of The Painted Veil, a book I reviewed on Friday. Starring Edward Norton, Naomi Watts, and Liev Schreiber, the movie stays pretty true to the book most of the way through. The film version, however, takes a turn from the original by making Kitty and Walter’s story more of a love story. Its really touching and poignant. We got to see more of Walter's story as well, and Kitty is less selfish in the movie. Also, the ending was changed—for the better, I thought. Normally I’m not a huge fan of the whole turn-the-book-into-a-movie thing, but I thought The Painted Veil was very well done.
